Sunglasses, I love them! Seeing David Beckham effortlessly pulling off his sunglasses really makes you to get one. However finding the perfect one has to be one of the hardest thing I have ever done.
In all my life, I have never bought a pair of sunglasses. Every time I try to buy one, they are either do not fit my face perfectly or the price is really expensive because a brand name has been slapped on the side of the frame. Plus, when I say expensive, I mean I can literally pay for a small get away to Europe with that price. I have tried some low-end sunglasses but they do not look great and the materials used look like it will break after a couple of use.
However, I have found the perfect pair of sunglasses which fits perfectly, made of highest quality materials available and also will not leave you penniless.
They are from Brightside Eyewear!
A bit about Brightside Eyewear
The company was founded in 2014 by Kevin Pugar. Similar to my issue with sunglasses, he found designer sunglasses were way over priced while reasonably priced sunglasses very subpar. Even worse, he found out the expensive sunglasses advertised as high-end were nowhere near the quality he expected them to be at.
Frustrated and fed up, Kevin set out on a mission to create a line of a line of affordable, premium sunglasses with different classic styles and colours. The result is Brightside Eyewear!
Finally the perfect one
I got the Copeland from the Brightside Eyewear vast selection. I just love that specific style with the black shades and the gold borders, plus I always wanted to pull off the David Beckham look with these.
My pair came at right in time for summer. With temperature hitting 25C in London and with the sun shining bright since 7AM, I am always out with my Copeland.
The one thing I really like about the Copeland is the craftmanship. For the price, the craftmanship is just exceptional. With each frame handmade, you can see the precision work and detail of the craftsman. The material used in making all of Brightside Eyewear is called cellulose acetate. It is a sustainable plant-based plastic made from cotton fibers and wood pulp, making it much more eco-friendly and giving it a more natural feel than petroleum-based plastics.
The Copeland is lightweight given the fact that there are metal rods running down the inside of the temples of the sunglasses along with its stainless steel metal frame in order to make sure that it is sturdy and will not break easily.
It is very comfortable to wear with its adjustable silicone nose pads for extra comfort and a secure fit. It does not leave any marks on the side of the nose and does not shake a lot. I have to chase buses a lot during the day but the Copeland does not shake or move out-of-place when running, which is an added bonus!
The lenses are made from mineral glass and they are 100% UVA/UVB protection which is a must for me. I wear prescription lenses for reading and my eyes usually burn a bit after stepping outside in the sun prior to spending a lot of time indoors. With the Copeland, I have seen my burning has been reduced.
It is always great to see when companies are giving back and helping charities wherever possible. For Brightside Eyewear, they donate a portion of every sale made from the sunglasses to charities who are making the world a better place.
The charities they are giving back to are Sight Savers, who are working in over 30 countries to eliminate avoidable blindness and to support those who have visual impairments, and Save The Music, who are dedicated to restoring music programs in America’s public schools and raising awareness about the importance of music as part of each child’s complete education.
This is a clear example of how bigger companies should be acting with their corporate social responsibility.

What are your tips to picking out the perfect pair of sunglasses?
Make sure you pick a style that suits your facial structure. Round faces should go with a more squared off frame, and boxier faces should go with a round frame. If you’ve got an oval or triangle face, you pretty much can’t go wrong. Decide whether you want a plastic or metal frame, if you prefer frames without nose pads, and if you want standard or polarized lenses. Also make sure the quality and materials are up to par. Don’t settle for cheap, but definitely don’t overpay. You’ll want to keep it fresh by having at least a few different pairs in your rotation. Above all, just wear what feels right!

I would like to thank Brightside Eyewear for the Copeland and also for allowing me to share some of their images!
